The Hohnstead Glamping Cabins isn’t a copy-and-paste retreat or a polished concept built by a corporation. It’s a place shaped by real hands, real stories, and a lot of off season planning and dreaming. Tucked into 100 acres of quiet Montana forest, our adults-only sanctuary was built board by board—by us —with blood, sweat, splinters, and a deep love for this once off-grid land.
Each of our five rustic cabins was built by us, piece by piece, with intention and imperfection woven right in. Nothing here is mass-produced or pulled from a warehouse shelf. Doors were hung by hand. Lamps were repurposed from Vietnamese hats carried home from our travels. Every knot in the wood, every uneven edge, tells a story of trial, error, splinters, and lots of Youtube tutorials. No two cabins are alike — because neither are the people who stay in them.
The Hohnstead was created for couples getaways, wellness retreats, and for those seeking forest-inspired healing. Here, mornings begin with coffee and birdsong on your porch. Days invite wandering trails, splitting wood, or practicing archery during a Scavenger Hunt. And evenings wind down with stargazing from the hot tub or stories around the campfire with yummy s’mores in hand and your pooch by your side.
As we celebrate 10 years of hosting, one thing remains true:

No strangers managing from afar, no corporate handoffs, no smart locks and call centers if something goes sideways. If you need help, have a question, or just want to share a story, we’re right here.
The Hohnstead didn’t come together overnight. We started with bare ground — no roads, no buildings, no power, no water (and, as Alla likes to remind us, no fun 😄).
